OK with that out of the way.... HAPPY BIRTHDAY AIDEN!! It is still hard to believe that it was a year ago that we were welcoming Aiden into the world. As all parents know there are no words to explain or capture what the first year of life means to you and does to you :) I think this birthday is not only a celebration for Aiden but for us parents for making it through the first year.
Aiden's first year was filled with so many great memories and milestones. He had 7 haircuts, finally got his first tooth last week, went on about 20 camping trips, had 2 round trips flying to the east coast, moved from northern to southern CA, and many other milestones.
Aiden has changed and grown so much over these past few months. He took his first steps right at 10 months and walking became the preferred mode of transportation right at 11 months. He is such a happy baby who likes to be the center of attention. His latest trick it to play peak a boo in his high chair during meals just to make sure we know he is there. He is also learning about boundaries... for an example another fun new game is for him to walk over to the stove as soon as we turn it on and try to hold the handle and jump with it..... he thinks this is funny... we do not :( I guess that is a one year old though! Every day he seems to learn something new it is amazing what little sponges they are....
My parents flew out for his 1st bday and we were so excited to have them here. Unfortunately they also brought some much needed rain with them to Southern CA, but luckily it stopped on Sunday for us to go to the wild animal park and lunch in Del Mar (where an older gentleman complimented Aiden on his good restaurant manners)... here they are in front of the gorillas.
We had to cancel the outdoor Birthday party we had planned for Aiden but our best friends The Zellers came to our rescue and offered to have the party at their house. We decided to have the party with our friends who also have kids and had our other friends over our house on Aiden's actual bday.... two parties are always better than one :)The Young Family was also at the bday party. Here is a picture of the kids when Aiden was 2 months old, Jordan (left) was 6.5 months old, and Emma (center) was 5 months old ( I think)
Here they are 10 months later!!! What a difference... that is Emma's older brother Hudson (almost 3) who decided to be in the picture this time... they will all be friends for life since their mommies will be :)And of course.... THE CAKE
